Introduction to The Vicarage Geraldine

  • POA

The Vicarage Geraldine is a boutique hotel located in a beautifully renovated historic building. Our unique contactless reception model is designed to give the Geraldine hotel a “home away from home” atmosphere, as well as allowing for flexibility in your arrival time.

Beside the main door, which is reached via an accessible ramp, you will find a row of lockboxes connected to the various rooms.

Step through the front door to discover dramatic wood panelling on the walls and stairway, complemented by striking wallpaper that adds a pop of colour.

Six luxurious rooms await at this Geraldine hotel, three upstairs and three downstairs. While each room is unique, with different layouts based on the character of the property and subtle variations in décor, all share the following features:

·       Superking bed (option to split into twin beds for $30 housekeeping fee)

·       Ensuite bathroom

·       Kitchenette with mini-fridge, sink, and kettle

Below, we introduce each of the six rooms. Many of our return guests request a “favourite” room for each visit, while others endeavour to sample each room. Each room is themed after one of the former residents of The Vicarage.

Introducing the Luxury Superking Rooms at our Geraldine Hotel Accommodation

Room 1 Downstairs: Canon Staples Hamilton Room

Room 1 is the quintessential Vicarage bedroom, with charming character features and a great layout.

Highlights include:

  • The historic fireplace
  • A big bay window
  • A private patio outside

Room 2 Downstairs: Archdeacon Harold Purchas Room

Room 2 is our accessible room, located directly to the left of the front entrance. It is also our largest room, with a spacious bathroom and walk-in shower.

Highlights include:

  • A spacious private patio directly beside the room
  • Carefully designed accessible features including a spacious bathroom with open shower
  • A wide profile, which makes this the perfect choice for twin beds
  • Large windows that let in plenty of light
  • A sizeable kitchenette tucked around the corner

Room 3 Downstairs: Rev. Lawrence Brown Room

Room 3 is petite but perfectly designed. This downstairs room is tucked beside the sitting room, in a very private location.

Highlights include:

  • A private patio next to the room
  • Set back from the road, which means less evening road noise
  • Very convenient access to the downstairs sitting room

Room 4 Upstairs: Rev. James Preston Room

Overlooking the front entrance, Room 4 features a historic fireplace akin to Room 1 just below.

Highlights include:

  • A historic fireplace
  • Views out toward the Four Peaks Plaza

Room 5 Upstairs: Rev. John Hayhoe Room

Room 5 has our best views, looking out across the town centre toward the Geraldine Downs. Windows on two sides of the building make for plenty of light.

In addition, Room 5 can be booked as a Two Room Super King Suite. When guests choose this option, the door connecting through to the adjoining sitting room is opened up and the sitting room is closed to other guests to create a private suite.

Highlights include:

  • Great views
  • Lots of afternoon sunshine
  • Option to book as a Two Room Super King Suite

Room 6 Upstairs: Archdeacon Robin Smith Room

Room 6 is our quietest and most private room, tucked at the back of the property. Views open out toward the Barker’s Foodstore & Eatery and the nearby Rhododendron Dell. Since this room is north-facing, it is a popular choice in winter, when our guests can enjoy all-day sunshine.

Highlights include:

  • A spacious bathroom
  • North-facing
  • Private and quiet at the back of the building

Two shared sitting rooms at The Vicarage Geraldine hotel

Our shared sitting rooms are one of the highlights of The Vicarage Geraldine. Not only are these communal spaces outfitted with board games, reading material, more substantial kitchenettes, and a wide range of hot drink selections, but they make for the perfect setting to meet and mingle with other guests.

You will also find decanters of port to enjoy while you unwind and socialize.

The kitchenettes in the sitting rooms are each equipped with the following:

  • Cooktop
  • Microwave
  • Toaster
  • Sink
  • Mini fridge
  • Kettle
  • Coffee maker
  • Additional cooking pots, dishes & cutlery

Downstairs: Vicar’s Sitting Room

The downstairs sitting room at The Vicarage Geraldine hotel is the larger of the two. Found at the back of the entrance hall, the Vicar’s Sitting Room is equipped with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and Barker’s fruit spreads. Double doors open onto the verandah.

Upstairs: Bob Lowe Sitting Room

Two walls of windows define the Bob Lowe Sitting Room, which looks out over the Barker’s Foodstore & Eatery and the Rhododendron Dell. The upstairs sitting room can be combined with Room 5 to create the Two Room Super King Suite.
