Barker's Accommodation Geraldine
The Vicarage Geraldine is run by Michael and Brigitte Barker, of Barker's of Geraldine fame. The boutique hotel sits right in front of the flagship Barker's Foodstore & Eatery.
As a relatively new accommodation in the heart of Geraldine, The Vicarage is known as much for its history as for its connection to the Barker's of Geraldine brand.
How is The Vicarage Geraldine boutique accommodation related to Barker's of Geraldine?

Michael Barker, who was instrumental in turning his father's business into a beloved household staple, did not originally intend to branch out into accommodation. When he and Brigitte first bought the property where the then-derelict old vicarage sat, they envisioned renovating it and converting it to the new Barker's Foodstore & Eatery (replacing the very small shop where visitors had once been able to taste Barker's products).
However, the property's historic status proved too difficult to navigate, so they went a different route instead.
It turned out the lot they had purchased was large enough to build a second building - which now houses the impressive Barker's Foodstore & Eatery - plus a sizeable car park. But the old Vicarage was an eyesore right at the front of the new premises.

So Michael and Brigitte decided to fully renovate the old Vicarage and convert it into boutique accommodation. It was a massive endeavour and a real labour of love, with extensive work done re-cladding, insulating, double-glazing, and fitting out the six beautifully appointed bedrooms with modern amenities complemented with standout historic features.
Are The Vicarage Geraldine and Barker's owned by the same company?

The Vicarage Geraldine and Barker's of Geraldine are separate entities now. Michael and Brigitte have stepped back from the Barker's brand to enjoy semi-retirement, so The Vicarage is their sole business at the moment.
However, the two still work closely together in some regards. All meals that guests can order at The Vicarage are prepared by the Barker's Foodstore & Eatery, including:
- Breakfast platters
- Antipasto platters
- Dinner platters
- Dessert platters
In addition, we offer our guests various vouchers that can be redeemed at the Barker's Foodstore & Eatery, from single-product vouchers and higher-value vouchers associated with special accommodation packages to a la carte breakfast vouchers booked by many travel agents who work with us.
Are there any other connections between The Vicarage Geraldine accommodation and Barker's of Geraldine?

When you stay at The Vicarage, you will find information on both the renovation of the historic property and the Barker's of Geraldine brand in the sitting rooms. In addition, we keep the mini-fridges in both sitting rooms stocked with Barker's preserves and spreads so you can sample a small range if you choose to enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
Michael Barker also gives talks on the history of Barker's of Geraldine to tour groups who stay at The Vicarage. This is something he can arrange for other groups as well, if he is available.
Since The Vicarage Geraldine and the Barker's Foodstore & Eatery share the same car park, the Eatery is a very convenient option for guests to choose for breakfast. The cafe is open from 8:30 every morning.

Stunningly restored The Vicarage has been lovingly restored to its former glory and retains touches of it's former life as a Vicarage with rooms named after former Vicars of the Parish and some caricature's of those residents in one of the sitting rooms. This is luxury in the heart of...
