Everyone has different tastes, but there really is something for everyone in our pretty little town of Geraldine as well as day trips that you just can't beat!

For a Rest, Relax & Walking Experience
Stay in and relax at The Vicarage, read all about our unique history or you could enjoy brunch next door at the Barker's Foodstore & Eatery and head to ilu Day Spa or Bella Salu Beauty Therapy to add even more relaxation to the menu. Geraldine offers a range of relaxing local walks, along the river, through Talbot Forest and around the town. Within a 20 minute drive you can access well maintained DOC walks in Peel Forest, Orari Gorge Scenic Reserve, the old Kakahu lime kiln & bush tracks, and Pioneer Park.
For the Art & History Experience
We have a wonderful range of galleries and museums in Geraldine. Check out the McAtamney Gallery & Design Store, Merivale Fine Arts and the Susan Badcock Studio (Featuring works by John Badcock and more) to find the perfect piece for your home. Walk to the Geraldine Museum for a walk through history or head over to Lillias' Lace Museum, the Geraldine Vintage Car & Machinery Museum and/or Route 79 Museum. For a Shopping Experience
Geraldine offers an excellent specialty shopping experience - all within 300m - which means you don't have to walk very far for a boutique browsing experience! and stop in at all the little shops for inspiration or gifts. You're sure to find something!

Check out the Self-Drive Farm Tours that we've curated for especially for Vicarage guests. We also recommend a 4WD tour with alps2ocean who will unlock the mysteries of the upper Rangitata river valley and Mesopotamia Station via Peel Forest and Mt Peel. For a Foodie Experience
Enjoy tastings of local foods including Barker’s of Geraldine drinks and preserves, Geraldine Cheese Co. (taste the world's first deer milk cheese), Humdinger Gin, Waihi Bush Organic flax seed oils, local microbrewery beers & more. The Vicarage stands tall in the centre of Geraldine in close proximity to cafes, restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, a specialty food store and a supermarket. For a Mountain Biking Experience
There are a range of bike tracks around the Forested Geraldine Downs (Peka Peka Gully & Riddells Reserve) and along the Orari River. We also suggest a ride up the three local river gorges (Te-Moana, Waihi & Orari Gorge Rivers).
For a Golfing Experience
Geraldine has both an 18 hole and a 9 hole golf course and within a 20 minute drive you can play the nearby courses at Temuka, Pleasant Point and Levels
